Meet Catherine Mentior

Belgian Painting Artist, Catherine Mentior has long been an amateur landscape watercolourist alongside her career in Communication for international companies.

Since 2020, she has devoted herself fully to painting and this time makes us discover her abstract and impressionist universe in acrylic paint.

 

In love with luminous colors, her painting is energetic, intuitive and moving. According to your imagination, you can let yourself be carried away into her world of joyful and bright colors that arouse positive emotions.

 

More than a representation of reality, her painting refers to childhood emotions and memories when we marvel at a ray of sunlight touching the surface of the water through foliage, or when we listen to the soft lapping water from a gently cascading stream. The journey continues in her abstract universe where we can imagine flames, flowers or algae dancing gaily on the canvas, bringing joy and light to the walls and in the eyes of those who look at it.

 

Painting represents for Catherine a bubble of well-being, escape and creativity, and she shares it with you during her exhibitions.

 

Through her painting, Catherine communicates to you her joy of living and a universe that is good for your mood. For this reason, her paintings are very popular during her exhibitions in medical centers.

 

On a technical level, Catherine uses mixtures of fluid acrylic paint which she pours and then works freely on the canvas horizontally. She has chosen to no longer use brushes or realistic models to allow the paint great freedom to flow and mix in order to reveal its mysteries to us. Pieces of cardboard serve as a guide for the pouring of paint, dynamism is provided by the touch of the finger or the dance of wooden sticks on the canvas.

Catherine Mentior permanently exhibits in hotels, restaurants, medical centers, shops and offices.

 

In 2023, she exhibited around a hundred artworks every month, mainly in Brussels and Walloon Brabant. In total, she has created more than 250 paintings and has exhibited in more than 25 different places since January 2022. She is also very active on social networks.

A la rencontre de Catherine Mentior

Artiste peintre belge, Catherine Mentior a longtemps été aquarelliste de paysages amateur en marge de sa carrière dans la Communication pour des sociétés internationales.

Depuis 2020, elle se consacre pleinement à la peinture et nous fait découvrir cette fois son univers abstrait et impressionniste à l’acrylique.

 

Amoureuse des couleurs lumineuses, sa peinture est énergique, intuitive et mouvante. Au gré de votre imagination, vous pouvez vous laisser emporter dans son univers de couleurs joyeuses et lumineuses qui suscitent des émotions positives.

 

Plus qu’une représentation de la réalité, elle renvoie à des  émotions et souvenirs d’enfance quand on s’émerveille d’un rayon de soleil effleurant la surface de l’eau à travers un feuillage, ou que l’on écoute le doux clapotis de l’eau d’un ruisseau qui cascade doucement. Le voyage se poursuit dans son univers abstrait où l’on peut imaginer des flammes, fleurs ou algues dansant gaiement sur la toile, apportant joie et lumière sur les murs et dans les yeux de ceux qui la regardent.

La peinture représente pour Catherine une bulle de bien-être, d’évasion et de créativité, et elle la partage avec vous lors de ses expositions.

A travers sa peinture, Catherine vous communique sa joie de vivre et un univers qui fait du bien au moral. Pour cette raison, elle est très appréciée lors de ses expositions dans les centres médicaux.

Au niveau technique, Catherine utilise des mélanges de peinture acrylique fluide qu’elle verse puis travaille librement sur la toile à l’horizontale. Elle a choisi de ne plus utiliser de pinceaux ni de modèles pour laisser à la peinture une grande liberté de s’écouler et de se mélanger afin de nous en révéler ses mystères. Des morceaux de carton servent de guide à la coulée de peinture, le dynamisme est apporté par la touche au doigt ou la danse de bâtonnets de bois sur la toile.

 

Catherine Mentior expose en permanence dans les hôtels, restaurants, centres médicaux, commerces et bureaux. En 2023, elle a exposé tous les mois une centaine d’œuvres, principalement à Bruxelles et en Brabant Wallon. Au total, elle a réalisé plus de 250 toiles et a exposé dans plus de 25 lieux différents depuis janvier 2022. Elle est aussi très active sur les réseaux sociaux.
